It’s just about summer (finally!) in Western Massachusetts. Enjoy the great outdoors and visit some of these wonderful state parks right here in the Pioneer Valley.

Robinson State Park, 428 North Street, Feeding Hills, MA

Activities include hiking, biking, mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing, fishing, horseback riding and swimming. They have grills, a pavilion, picnic areas and restrooms. The park is open Sunday-Saturday 9am-4pm. Find more info here.

Chicopee Memorial State Park, 570 Burnett Road, Chicopee, MA

Hampton Ponds State Park, 1048 North Road, Westfield, MA

Activities include kayaking and canoeing, fishing and swimming. They have grills, a boat ramp (for non-motorized boats), a pavilion, picnic areas and restrooms. They are open sunrise to sunset. Find more info here.

Skinner State Park, 10 Skinner State Park Road, Hadley, MA

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Pioneer Valley from the summit of Mt. Holyoke. Activities include hiking, walking, mountain biking. Facilities include grilling, picnic areas, restrooms and a visitor’s center. Find more info here.

Mount Tom State Reservation, 125 Reservation Road, Holyoke, MA

Enjoy wonderful views of the Pioneer Valley from Mount Tom. Activities include hiking, fishing and educational programs. Facilities include grills, nature center, a pavilion, picnic areas, a playground, restrooms and a visitors center. Hours are sunrise to sunset. Find more info here.

Quabbin Reservoir, 100 Winsor Dam Road, Belchertown, MA

Quabbin is one of the largest unfiltered water supplies in the US. Views are gorgeous and the reservoir covers 39 square miles with 181 miles of shoreline. Activities include walking, fishing, boating, biking. Facilities include picnic areas, restrooms, a visitor center, an observation tower and boat rentals. The visitor’s center is open 7 days a week from 9am-5pm. Find more info here.
