Coronavirus and Your Parenting Schedule

Coronavirus and Your Parenting Schedule

Johnson Sclafani Moriarty Attorneys at Law

The coronavirus has changed the way we live our lives these days. The most common question that our attorneys get is whether or not people have to follow the parenting schedule. The answer is a resounding YES. Unless the other parent is symptomatic, or diagnosed, or if another member in the household is symptomatic or diagnosed, then the parenting schedule must continue unless there is an agreement of the parties.

Unprecedented times call for creativity and flexibility. As such, virtual parenting time is ok, if both parties agree, and especially helpful when one party is ill. A change in the parenting schedule, due to children being out of school is ok. As long as both parties agree there will be no legal consequences if the parenting schedule is changed.
