Coronavirus and Massachusetts Courts

During the coronavirus pandemic you might be wondering if Massachusetts Courts are open. They are open … somewhat.

Other than an emergency or “exigent” circumstances, nothing is being heard. Any matters that qualify as an emergency/exigent are being heard over the telephone. All other matters are heard by the moving party submitting in writing their desires and there is specific protocol as to how to have that matter reviewed by the Court. At this moment, the expectation (although it continuously changes, and rightly so, and is unlikely to be the case), is that the Courts will be open for business on 5/4/2020.
