Cannabis Laws in Massachusetts

In Massachusetts, cannabis is legal for adult-use (21 years or older) and possession of up to one ounce of cannabis or five grams of concentrate is allowed in public. Use only state certified cannabis products. Do not consume cannabis in public or on federal lands. Do not carry cannabis across state lines. If you have more than one ounce of cannabis in your home, it needs to be locked up.

If you are thinking of growing cannabis in your home, it’s best to follow the laws of growing marijuana.
The plants must be grown in an area equipped with a lock or security device, and cannot be visible from a public space without the use of binoculars, aircraft or other optical aids. Do not grow more than 6 plants (or 12 if there are two or more adults living in the home).
