Background and Experience

Tanya Moriarty has practiced law in Massachusetts for 22 years, concentrating on family law. She represents clients across Hampden County, primarily in the Probate and Family Court in Springfield.

Her practice centers on high-conflict matters; cases where the parties are far from agreement, where custody is genuinely contested, or where one side is not being straightforward about finances. About three-quarters of her practice is devoted to litigation.

Tanya began her career here in 2002, spent four years as a partner in two other Western Massachusetts firms, and returned. Two decades in the same courts have given her a working knowledge of local practice and of the attorneys on the other side of most of her cases.

Tanya grew up in Canada, earned her undergraduate degree at the University of New Brunswick, and speaks French. Outside the office, she has completed four marathons, including Boston, trains at CrossFit, and has taught spin as a certified instructor since 2013. She and her husband have two daughters.
