Background and Experience

Gabriella Caminito-Meeker came to law through social services. She studied psychological sciences at the University of Connecticut, worked in social work, and then completed her law degree at Western New England University with a concentration in Public Interest Practice.

That path shapes how she practices. Family law cases arrive with more than a legal question attached to them, and clients are often managing housing, employment, or a child’s well-being at the same time they are managing a court schedule. Recognizing what a client is actually carrying is part of representing them well.

She works with clients on:

• Divorce, child custody, parenting time, and support
• Abuse prevention orders and harassment prevention orders
• Wills, powers of attorney, and health care proxies
• Personal injury claims

Her work on abuse prevention and harassment prevention orders draws directly on that background. These cases move quickly, often begin with an emergency hearing in a district court, and carry consequences that reach into custody, housing, and employment. They call for someone who can move fast on the law and stay steady with the person in front of them.

Attorney Caminito-Meeker has also completed training in divorce mediation. Not every family law matter needs to be litigated, and some resolve better and less expensively when the parties can be brought to an agreement. Where a case is suited to that approach, she can offer it. Where it is not, the firm litigates.

Estate planning rounds out her practice. She prepares wills, durable powers of attorney, and health care proxies; the documents that determine who decides for you, and what happens to what you own, if you cannot decide for yourself.

She practices in the Hampden County Probate and Family Court in Springfield and in the district courts across the county.
