Our 3 Favorite Things to do in Western MA during the Holidays

1. Bright Nights – So hard to believe that Bright Nights is 25 Years Old! It is pure magic and is a collaboration between the City of Springfield’s Department of Parks, Buildings & Rec Management and the Spirit of Springfield, a private, non-profit organization. It has been named seven times as one of the “Top 100 Attractions in North America” by the American Bus Association, listed on People.com as “One of the Top Ten Holiday Happenings in America,” and has been featured in the New York Times, Yankee Magazine and many others.

Bright Nights runs through January 5, 2020, Sunday through Thursday from 5PM-9PM and Fridays and Saturdays from 5PM-11PM. The cost is $20 per car (Monday-Thursday) and $25 per car (Friday through Sunday and holidays). Limousines are $35. Mini Buses are $85 and Buses seating more than 31 people are $175. 2. Yankee Candle – A favorite destination to many in Western Mass, but during the holidays, even more so! On Wednesday, December 18 from 6PM-9PM, wear your best Ugly Sweater for a chance to win a prize and finish up your holiday shopping! On Thursday, December 19 from 6-8:30PM kids of all ages are invited to wear their PJ’s and join Santa for a story, milk & cookies, a parade and a FREE craft!

3. Springfield Museums  Gingerbread Competition – The annual gingerbread competition and exhibit takes place through December 31 in the Springfield Science Museum. This year’s theme is Hollywood & the Holidays. The creations are inspired by holiday movies and are created by local baking enthusiasts of all ages.
